I see you, Mother.

Becoming a mother is one of the most profound transformations a woman will ever experience in her life.

It changes us in every way imaginable: physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually1. Yet the significance of our birth into Motherhood is often pushed aside. We become so devoted to caring for our children and meeting the demands of motherhood that we rarely have the space to pause and acknowledge what is unfolding within us. And in a culture that has all but forgotten how to recognise and honour the becoming of a mother, many women are left to navigate this profound rite of passage on their own.

At least, this is what it felt like for me.

I remember sensing that something within me was shifting, but feeling adrift because I didn’t yet have the understanding or guidance to make sense of what was unfolding within me. I loved my child deeply, yet I could feel that this inner transformation was shaping the way I showed up in our relationship in subtle ways. I was searching for a way to reconnect with myself, while also recognising that some old ways of being no longer felt aligned with the woman and mother I was becoming.

Perhaps you have felt this too.

That the woman you once were is still part of you, but motherhood has opened the door to something new. You may find yourself questioning old ways of being, seeing your relationships differently, or longing to reconnect with parts of yourself that have been quietly placed aside.

What this transformation asks of us, is to pause and honour what is unfolding — to understand the woman we were, honour what has shaped us, release what no longer serves us, and consciously weave a new path forward, one rooted in deeper connection, self-trust and reverence for the mother we are becoming.
