The lines we inherit.
The lines we create.
Together, they become our own story.
Motherlines is a monthly offering of original art and letters, for the woman finding her way through motherhood.
Introducing
Motherlines
by Mail
A monthly creative ritual intended for mothers to slow down, create and reconnect with themselves during their motherhood journey.
Motherhood can be beautiful, joyful and deeply meaningful, yet it can also feel surprisingly isolating. Not because we are necessarily alone, but because the changes unfolding within us are not always seen or understood by those around us.
As we care for our children and adapt to this new season of life, it can be difficult to find the time and space to pause, reflect and honour our own experience.
Motherlines Mail offers a gentle way to do just that. It is intentionally designed to create a little pocket of time that belongs to you — a moment to receive, reflect and reconnect with yourself through simple creative practices, in your own time and place.
A little something each month — for the mother who deserves to receive
Each month, a little piece of Motherlines will arrive in your letterbox — thoughtfully created to give you a moment to pause, receive and reconnect with yourself within motherhood.

The Practice
Everything in The Letter (see opposite), with an additional creative practice to help you pause, explore and express what's happening within.
A creative practice
A simple, gentle art-making exercise to help you pause, ground yourself and explore what's happening within. No artistic experience is needed.A supporting insert or resource to accompany the practice
A small gift, or natural, hand-made element
No artistic experience is needed, and there is nothing you need to complete. The practice is simply an invitation to spend a little time with yourself.
Who is Motherlines Mail for?
Motherlines Mail is for mothers who want a little more space to connect with themselves within motherhood — whether newly finding your feet, or many years into it.
If The Letter feels right for you... You're likely craving something quiet to receive — words and art that meet you where you are, without asking anything of you in return. A moment to read, to sit with, to keep.
If The Practice feels right for you... You're likely drawn to creativity as a way of noticing what's beneath the surface — a small, gentle way to explore a feeling, not just receive one.
Motherlines Mail offers a small invitation to pause, reflect and reconnect with yourself — in your own time and at your own pace.
An important note: Motherlines Mail is delivered once a month, for six months. After that, I will take a pause — a kind of hibernation — before beginning again. This gives me space to rest, to gather any feedback and reflect, and to think about my next offering. It also means each season stays intentional, rather than becoming something ongoing and automatic.
The Practice, explained
The creative element sits at the heart of this tier.
These aren't art lessons, and you don't need to consider yourself artistic to take part. They are simple, accessible ways to slow down, ground yourself, and become more aware of what is happening within you.
Through colour, shape, mark-making, image and other forms of creative expression, you might explore a feeling, notice an impulse, express something that is difficult to put into words, or simply take a moment to see where you are.
There is no right or wrong way to do this, and nothing you need to create or achieve.
The intention behind including this each month:
To give you a moment that is entirely yours
To notice where you are — emotionally, mentally, sometimes physically
To help you transition from the noise of the day into a moment of stillness
To become a little more familiar with your own impulses
What can arise from the practice:
Naming a feeling, without needing to fix it
Recognising what's present, without judgement
Becoming more comfortable simply sitting with what is

Why Motherlines
Motherlines was born from my own search for a way to reconnect with myself within motherhood.
Art was that link.
Creativity offered me a way back to myself; a way to pause, make meaning of change, and notice the parts of me that were still unfolding. It wasn't about returning to who I was before becoming a mother. It was about understanding how I could stay connected to myself while making room for this new, profound part of my life. And over time, I came to believe that motherhood isn't about leaving the woman you were behind. It's about discovering which parts of her you want to carry forward.
That belief sits at the heart of Motherlines.
Hello, I'm Blaise — the artist, designer and mother behind Motherlines.
My background is in graphic design and art direction, and creativity has always been an important part of how I make sense of the world. Becoming a mother changed that relationship with creativity, but it also showed me just how valuable it could be as a way of staying connected to myself.
Motherlines brings together these two parts of my experience — my love of making and my own experience of motherhood — with a desire to create something thoughtful, beautiful and meaningful for other mothers.
I created Motherlines because I believe mothers deserve moments that are about more than caring for everyone else. Moments to pause, to reflect, to explore what is happening within them and to remember that they are still here, too.
Motherlines is my way of creating those moments.
